Clarksburg Police Department Arrests Man for 2010 Murder - WBOY.com: Clarksburg, Morgantown: News, Sports, Weather

The Clarksburg Police Department has arrested Ennis 'E.C.' Payne, 37, for the 2010 murder of Jayar Poindexter, 30.

Payne was charged with first degree murder on Tuesday after authorities determined Payne killed Poindexter during an attempted burglary at the Quarry Apartments in Clarksburg on January 13, 2010. 

Sergeant J.J. Cox said Payne shot Poindexter in the chest with a small caliber gun.

Cox said Payne knew his victim and was a suspect from the beginning of the investigation.

Payne is in the North Central Regional Jail.

The Clarksburg Police Department said the investigation is ongoing.
