Former Salem City Clerk Enters Plea Agreement

Former Salem city clerk Sherry Olenick has entered into a plea agreement in the alleged theft of city funds.

Olenick pleaded guilty to one count of felony falsifying accounts and felony conspiracy to embezzle, according to Harrison Chief Assistant Prosecutor Susan Morris.

Olenick agreed to cooperate against former city manager David Mayle.

Both Olenick and Mayle are accused of embezzling thousands of dollars from the city of Salem.

Olenick is scheduled for sentencing in November.
