The Morgantown Police Department is investigating a vehicle accident on Parson Street involving an 8-year-old Woodburn Elementary student and his mother, according to a news release from the police department.
Police said the accident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. Wednesday while students were being dropped off at school.
Police said a vehicle brushed up against the student and mother and left the scene traveling north on Parsons Street.
The vehicle is described as a dark gray Dodge Neon with unknown registration, according to the news release.
The student was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
