The U.S. Marshals Service apprehended a man who was wanted in Texas on a sex crimes charge on Interstate 79 near the 131 mile marker in Fairmont Thursday afternoon.

The Marshals service was alerted that the man was believed to be traveling through the area from Ohio and that he was headed south on I-79. Authorities learned that Freddy Lee Neighbors, 28, was driving a tractor trailer and that he may have been changing the license plate to evade law enforcement.

The Marshals service contacted West Virginia State Police and was able to arrest Neighbors. Neighbors was wanted in Texas for sexual misconduct and indecency with a child, according to U.S. Marshals Service Supervisory Agent Alex Neville.

Neighbors was transported to the state police barracks in Fairmont for processing and will be taken to the North Central Regional Jail until his court appearance.
