A former WVU Football player was back in Morgantown talking to students at North Elementary School.

Former Mountaineer running back Noel Devine spoke with students about how he moved on from his troubled past.

He lost his mother at a young age and witnessed a murder growing up.

Devine said students need to know what hard work can accomplish.

"I had a tough childhood growing up and I just want to reach out and give back, and you can accomplish anything if you have goals," Devine said. "And just give them the basic tools for life that they need coming from elementary into middle school."

Devine even took on a few students in a foot race.

He currently plays for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.
