After reading about how other churches were providing better nutrition for school students in the area, Reverend Carolyn Nettles wanted to see what her church, Stone Coal United Methodist, could do to help.
After reading about how other churches were providing better nutrition for school students in the area, Reverend Carolyn Nettles wanted to see what her church, Stone Coal United Methodist, could do to help.
Wilson Martino Dental in Fairmont has kicked off its ninth annual coat drive.
Wilson Martino Dental has collected more than 4,000 coats over the years.
This year, it will collect new or gently used coats through the month of October and into early November.
It then will donate the coats to local relief agencies, which will give them away to people in need.
"They don't have to purchase anything," said Wendy Boyce, of Wilson Martino Dental. ‘We collect coats for all ages from school age up to retirement and beyond. We just want to kind of partner with our community and say thank you and be able to give back."
The coat drive will continue through November 9.
