
The Alderson-Broaddus College football team is on a six game win streak. The Battlers traveled to Bluefield College in Bluefield, Va. on Sunday for its sixth game of the 2012 season.
A-B brought home a 57-6 win over Bluefield's junior varsity team.
The Battlers scored 22 points in the first quarter including two field goals from Philip Warner. A-B scored on one running touchdown and one throwing score. The Battlers also added two two-point conversions.
In the second quarter A-B Quarterback Wilson Vaughn found Guy Morris on a touchdown pass. The Battlers kicked the extra point and took a 29-0 lead. Bluefield scores on a field goal before halftime.
The Rams scored again to start the second half, another field goal gave Bluefield it's six points. Deanerius Wilson ran back a kick return to give A-B a 36-6 lead.
Three more scores were added to the A-B side of the scoreboard. Three A-B receivers caught touchdown passes. Vaughn, Wesley Nesmith and Matt Hommell caught those passes. Brandon Jones also had a rushing score.
The Battlers hit the gridiron again on Monday, Oct. 8 at Bethany College.
