MORGANTOWN -
West Virginia University held its 5th Annual Perry G. Fine Pain Lecture Series on Monday at the Erikson Alumni Center.
Dr. Fine gave information on how chronic pain is now considered a disease and affects over 110 million Americans every year. West Virginia University and the School of Nursing partnered with the Hospice Care Corporation to host the event.
"This is the first time a major medical center and university has partnered with a community hospice program, in this case Hospice Care Corporation, initiated by it's founder Malene Davis to present world class cutting edge information in the forms of pain medicine and palliative care to the community," said Dr. Fine
The series also included a lecture by Dr. Marcus Nemuth on combat trauma, post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries affecting our troops.
Doctors, nurses and anyone who registered for the series could attend.
