Hospice Care Corporation held its fifth annual "walk for Hospice" event in honor of lost loved ones Sunday at Pricketts Fort in Fairmont.

The Dollar Energy Fund has started providing utility assistance grants for the 2012-2013 heating season.
Limited income households throughout the state can apply for utility assistance for gas, electric and water bills.
Dollar Energy Fund partners with six utility companies across West Virginia to administer the Hardship Program.
The organization is funded by private contributions matched dollar for dollar by utility companies. Officials said the organization is funded by private contributions matched dollar for dollar by utility companies.
Officials said the organization's network, of over 80 Community Based organizations, will begin taking Hardship Program applications beginning October 1. Applications will be accepted until the funds are depleted.
A family of four is eligible for the program if they earn up to $34,575 per year in income. Households must have made a sincere effort of payment on their utility bill in the last 90 days and have a back balance to qualify.
