Lincoln High School played host to a school board effectiveness meeting Tuesday evening.
Superintendent Susan Collins started the meeting with a presentation about the successes of Harrison County Schools.
Collins said one success in Harrison County Schools is an increase in the county's graduation rate.
78.2 percent of Harrison County's seniors graduated last year while the drop-out rate fell to 3.1 percent.
Johnson Elementary School Assistant Vice Principal Heather Holbert said she's optimistic about the future.
"Harrison County is such a great county because we are a forward thinking county. We have high achieving students, and we continue to push those students even further, whether it be through our AP courses we have available or the college classes. Everyone is just trying to pull together to see how we can push further and further," Holbert said.
Superintendent Collins said the county's graduation rates are increasing, as well as the number of courses high school students can take for college credit.
