Marion County United Way Making Progress on 2012-2013 Goal

    An electrical fire destroyed a home in Harrison County Tuesday night. The Harrison County 911 Center said it started just after 12:15 a.m. on Locust Street in Salem. It said the fire appears to be suspicious.

The Marion County United Way is well on its way to meeting its 2012-2013 goal.

The theme of this year's campaign is to "Warm Up Marion County".

It aims to help those who are cold, hungry, and alone.

Marion County Commission donated $5,500 to the United Way at its meeting Wednesday.

The United Way now has raised 12 percent of its goal of $455,000.

It has already raised more then $61,000.
