Fleming Memorial Church celebrated its centennial Wednesday evening.

More than a dozen people came to Fairmont for the church's 100th year celebration as chartered church.

Before 1912, it was known as a Chapel.

Members of the congregation and the community gathered to celebrate with dinner and a worship service to follow.

Rab Snider said his family helped charter the church on October 3, 1912.

"Today is the opening day of our actual date of our anniversary, and we've invited past members and friends of the town, and we have many guests from out of town attending that used to come to this church," Snider said.

Fleming Memorial Church will celebrate its centennial every Sunday this October.
