Two businesses were cited following an alcohol compliance check in Monongalia County, according to a news release from the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department.

On September 27, deputies of the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department, along with an underage operative, conducted alcohol compliance checks at 11 businesses in Monongalia County.

Nine of the 11 businesses checked did not sell to the underage person, deputies said.

The nine businesses that did not sell are:

  • Shop-N-Save on Venture Drive
  • Mid-Atlantic Mart on Cheat Road
  • BFS on Venture Drive
  • Ashebrook Exxon on Cheat Road
  • Sheetz on Earl Core Road
  • BFS on Earl Core Road
  • Dairy Mart on Willey Street
  • Kroger on Earl Core Road
  • Circle K on Point Marion Road

The two businesses that did sell to the underage person were the Circle K on Earl Core Road and Eastgate Sunoco on Earl Core Road.

Circle K employee, Halee Stewart, 19 of Morgantown, and Eastgate Sunoco employee Steven Walker, 18 of Morgantown, were both cited for selling to an underage person, according to the sheriff's department.

The Monongalia County Sheriff's Office said it will continue to do compliance checks throughout Monongalia County.
