PHILIPPI -
The Philippi community was doing its part to try and end hunger on Sunday.
They joined with students from Alderson-Broaddus College as they got ready for the annual Barbour County Crop Walk.
Money raised from the event will go to help stop hunger worldwide, and organizers said that's a cause A-B students fight regularly.
"There's a lot of missions here in Barbour County to end hunger in this area, and a lot of these students really enjoying helping out places like heart and hand and the Barbour County Senior Center, so it's just their way of giving back even more," said event organizer Sarah Geist, who works with Americorps VISTA at A-B.
20 percent of the proceeds from the walk will stay in Barbour County.
