An electrical fire destroyed a home in Harrison County Tuesday night. The Harrison County 911 Center said it started just after 12:15 a.m. on Locust Street in Salem. It said the fire appears to be suspicious.

Doddridge County High School has received a three-year, $50,000 Innovation Zone Grant, allowing students with similar interests to spend a few hours every month getting real world experience.

Alderson-Broaddus College in Barbour County will see an influx of guests this weekend.
The Philippi-based school is gearing up for its annual Homecoming celebration.
The weekend will feature a parade, musical performances, and several key sporting events. The school is expecting a bigger homecoming than in years past, due to its increased enrollment.
"In years past it's been mainly just alums back, and that's all you see. But now you're gonna see a lot more students and alums interacting, which will bring about a nice change on campus," said Nathan Price, alumni director.
The homecoming parade will begin Saturday at 11 a.m. on Main Street in Philippi.
