This fall, be on the lookout for some festive decorations in downtown Clarksburg.
Area businesses are encouraged to participate in the "beautification of Clarksburg."
Businesses can "adopt" a pole in their vicinity and decorate it in an autumn or Halloween theme.
Betsy Tennant of Clarksburg Area Florist proposed the idea.
She hopes it will improve the downtown atmosphere.
"Anything that will cause people to look over and see your business to attract attention to your business that they maybe didn't see before," Tennant said. "It just brightens up the city as a whole."
Tennant hopes the decorations will catch on and that businesses will continue to decorate for the winter.
