Another city employee in Salem has stepped down.

The city's Water Clerk, Julia Childers, resigned on Friday, October 6, following a suspension notice from the city.

Childers' position has not yet been filled.

The city is still relying on the Harrison County Sheriff's Department for law enforcement personnel.

The city is currently investigating how to fill those vacancies either by finding new people or by combining with county offices.
