The trial for former Salem city manager David Mayle continued Thursday in Clarksburg.

Lead investigator, Lieutenant P.B. McCarty of the Harrison County Sheriff's Department testified, citing bank statements and other financial documents dating back to 2008 and 2009.

Mayle and former Salem city clerk Sherry Olenick are accused of embezzling thousands in funds from the city of Salem. Olenick pleaded guilty to felony falsifying accounts and felony conspiracy to embezzle last month.

Olenick is expected to testify later this week as part of a plea deal.
