    It was a celebratory day at West Virginia Wesleyan College as Senator Jay Rockefeller returned to campus for the first time in nearly eight years in an event with journalist Ted Koppel.

Zeebox, a social networking and television website, has partnered with Comcast Cable, NBCUniversal, HBO and Cinemax, to launch its mobile television service in the U.S., according to a news release from Broadcast Engineering.

Zeebox represents a cross-channel TV viewing companion app for iPhones, iPod Touches, Androids and web browsers, and enables users to discover what to watch by browsing TV listings, social media and personalized recommendations.

The app, which is cloud-based, recognizes the context of what its users are watching and enhances the viewers experience with relevant contest from advertisers, social networks, TV programmers, and the web.

The service is optimized for the new iPhone 5, 4 in Retina display and on iOs 6, including Smart App downloads within Zeebox and Facebook single sign on, and is free on the App Store, according to the news release.
