MORGANTOWN -
Students came to University High School to exercise their minds on Saturday.
The fourth annual quiz bowl had teams come from Ohio, Southern Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The 15 teams were split up into four groups, and then went through six rounds of quizzing.
"These teams have a chance to answer questions about all fields of knowledge out there. These kids have to be really, pretty well versed to have a chance to be very successful at this," said David McQuain, tournament director.
Students that competed could earn scholarships.
The winners of the quiz bowl were Winchester Thurston from Pittsburgh, Pa. Bridgeport and George Washington of Charleston were in third and fourth place.
