Army Corps of Engineers to Lower Water Levels at Stonewall Jackson Lake

Posted: Updated:

The Army Corps of Engineers will be lowering the water level at Stonewall Jackson Lake to make repairs on its dam.

Crews will be fixing issues with the water control tower.

It will lower the lake by seven feet to allow access to machinery which is usually underwater.

The corps of engineers urges boaters to use caution while the levels remain low.

Repairs should only take a few weeks, the lake should be returned to its normal level by January.
