The Randolph County Sheriff's Department arrested a woman for malicious wounding Thursday, October 11.
Sara Ravan Daniels, 22 of Randolph County, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding.
Sheriff's deputies responded to a call on October 11 at approximately 9:25 p.m. of a vehicle accident on Ward Road in Elkins.
Upon arrival, deputies found the victim lying in a driveway being treated by Randolph County EMS.
Deputies were then informed that the incident was not a vehicle accident, but that Daniels had intentionally ran over the victim.
The victim was flown to Morgantown via Healthnet, deputies said.
In a statement made the following day, the victim told sheriff's deputies that she was driving on Ward Road when a vehicle began to follow her closely.
The victim said she then turned into a familiar driveway and stopped. The victim said the defendant came to her window and began punching her in the face, pulling her hair and took the victim's keys from the ignition.
The victim told deputies that she then exited the car, trying to get away from Daniels.
According to the victim, Daniels then got back into her car and struck the victim twice, causing the victim to be knocked into the bushes and over an embankment. Daniels then drove off.
Daniels in currently in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail with bail set at $10,000.
