The fire occurred at approximately 7:55 p.m. at a house along Route 7 Veteran's Highway in the Corinth area of Preston County.
The firefighter was injured after following through the porch of the house, according to Ayersman.
The house was vacant at the time and sustained approximately $20,000 damage during the fire.
The fire is being treated as arson, according to Ayersman.
Additional felony charges may be filed in an arson case if a firefighter is injured while responding or fighting the fire, Ayersman said.
