Trial Date Set for Lewis County Man Accused of Murder - WBOY.com: Clarksburg, Morgantown: News, Sports, Weather

The trial of a Lewis County man accused of killing his wife will start at the end of this month.

The authorities arrested Terry Messenger, 61, in 2011 and charged him with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of his wife, Ida Messenger.

The defense said Messenger will not plead guilty to the charge.

It said it will argue that Messenger committed not first degree murder, but manslaughter.

Attorneys already have selected a jury for the trial which will begin on Monday, October 29.
