It may not seem like changing one word in a school's name is a big deal, but there's a lot that still needs to be done for Alderson-Broaddus College to change its name to Alderson Broaddus University.

Around 40 visitors got the chance to tour a historical house in Preston County on Saturday. The Old Hemlock Foundation manages a house previously owned by George Bird Evans and his wife, Kay.
Evans was a noted artist, author, outdoors-man, and dog breeder. He is most known for his artwork in Cosmopolitan magazine in the 1940s. The house was built in 1782, and has been maintained in its natural state by the foundation.
The foundation offers public tours twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. They also offer private tours to groups.
"The purpose of it is education. We give medical scholarships, we give scholarships to local people, we give grants to local schools for literature and art and we support the Preston County Humane Society. And this will be our first year for distributions," said LeJay Graffious, director of the Hemlock Foundation.
The tours usually bring in 50 to 80 people each time. The next tour is scheduled for July 2013. If you would like more information about the foundation or the tours click here.
