CLARKSBURG -

The Clarksburg VFW and Twisted Spoke Custom Cycles teamed up for the third consecutive year to help a good cause.  They held the "Bikes for Military Tikes Toy Run" on Saturday afternoon to benefit children of military families.

The bikers met up at VA Park in Clarksburg with toys attached to the back of their motorcycles.  They started their route at the park and went through Nutterfort, Stonewood, Eastview and  Golf Plaza before ending up at the Clarksburg VFW Post 573.  Once there, they donated their toys and went inside for refreshments.

Jim Satterfield, the owner of Twisted Spoke, started the event three years ago to benefit children in need.

"We just really wanted to do something for the military children at Christmas time.  Some of the family members are away overseas and the kids don't have any way of getting presents and stuff.  We just thought it would be a good thing to do and to get together with the VFW," said Jim Satterfield, owner of Twisted Spoke.

Almost $1200 worth of toys were donated by members of the VFW before the ride even began.  All of the toys donated will be distributed to local children of military families.
