A Harrison County woman celebrated the publication of her first children's book Sunday afternoon.

Colleen Driscoll is the author of "Piper the Elf Trains Santa."

The book highlights ways both children and adults can exercise to stay healthy and have fun at the same time.

Driscoll said the importance of exercise is a message she wants to share with the rest of the state.

"The whole idea is that everyone can exercise and have fun. And in West Virginia and throughout the United States, exercise is a big concern. So that's what this book is about, it shows how little kids, elves, actually love having fun with Santa and exercising, and it is for everyone," said Driscoll.

The event also featured Christmas performances from area high schools, to go along with the book's Christmas theme.
