Morgantown's Mayor Jim Manilla will be sporting colors other than the Gold & Blue in the near future.

As part of the effort to reach out to the Big 12, Manilla has issued a challenge with conference Mayors at home games.

The losing team's mayor wears the winner's colors at the next city council meeting.

For the first time this season, the Mountaineers lost at home, which means Manilla will show up to the next council meeting in a Kansas State T-shirt.

Kansas State representatives say the city's efforts to welcome the new schools to the area are paying off.

"Prior to the game, we were just overwhelmed by the hospitality and how friendly everybody was and welcoming, and like I said, the alumni center staff under Steve Douglas was tremendous," said Amy Button Renz of the Kansas State Alumni Association.
