Fairmont Police said a Marion County man was shot Tuesday morning on Front Street in Fairmont.
The shooting happened around 2:15 a.m. when Samuel Hine, 35, was walking home from a bar with his girlfriend.
Fairmont Lieutenant Steve Shine said two to three shots came from an unidentified car passing by.
One of the shots hit Hine's left thigh and another struck a vehicle near by.
Lieutenant Shine said the motive for the shooting is unknown.
Hine was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital and police said he is in stable condition.
Fairmont Police are investigating and have sent evidence to be examined at the state police crime lab.
Fairmont Police said to call the police department at 304-366-4200 if you have any information regarding the incident.
