A Marion County man has been arrested on charges of child abuse resulting in injury.
The Marion County Sheriff's Department has arrested Timothy Sheppard, 36 of Fairmont, after he struck his 17-year-old son in the face and slammed him to the ground.
The criminal complaint said Sheppard and his son were arguing about money.
The son was observed with a swollen eye, blood around his lips, and abrasions on his body.
Sheppard is being held in North Central Regional Jail with bail set at $5,000.
