WVU Student Athletes Participate in 'Speaking to Communities' Class

Posted: Updated:

Some WVU student athletes are telling their personal stories to the community.

Six athletes spoke to faculty, friends and coaches Tuesday as part of the university's "Speaking to Communities" class.

Freshman basketball player Eron Harris talked about humility a lesson he said he learned from his parents.

"People who are humble always have better attitudes and understand there is always room to improve," Harris said. "They can take criticism better, at one point, I couldn't take the criticism. In high school, my basketball coach would let me know when I was wrong, and whether he was right or wrong I talked back to him as if I were right."

Several veterans will speak at the Clear Mountain bank in Morgantown next week as part of the class.
