Everyone gets a lead foot every so often. But a study showing that West Virginia has more fatalities from car wrecks than other areas in the United States may have drivers on Interstate 79 hitting the brakes.
A delegation from Brazil stopped by West Virginia University to discuss future research partnerships.
The São Paulo Research Foundation is a public group that funds various research fields.
The foundation is looking at ways to work with other researchers outside of Brazil.
WVU is one of several schools in the country that the foundation is looking to work with.
"We have several connections to Brazilians who are faculty here, or deans, which helps us to establish those initial connections, plus it's a university that is strong in several fields of science and research," said Carlos Brito Cruz, of the São Paulo Research Foundation.
The university also unveiled an exhibit on Brazilian nature on display inside the Erickson Alumni Center.
