The West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children Unit has arrested a Fairmont man on child pornography charges.

Gerald Stevens, 55, has been arrested and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of use of obscene matter with intent to seduce a minor, according to Sgt. Adam Scott.

Stevens turned himself in to state police Thursday afternoon.

State Police obtained numerous chat logs, including one that indicated Stevens was chatting online with another adult who was sexually molesting a 6-year-old child.  Stevens appears to have been instructing the other adult male how to molest the child, according to the criminal complaint.

Stevens is being held in North Central Regional Jail with bail set at $1.5 million.

State Police believe that there are numerous victims in this case and encourage them to come forward.
