ELKINS -

Davis and Elkins College will present its production of "A Piece of My Heart".

The story follows the personal journeys of six women stationed in Vietnam.

Director April Daras said the play honors Vietnam veterans and examines the challenges they faced, when they came home from the war.

"Most of us our civilian so we don't know what it was like, unless you were in the armed services or unless you're a member, you've served overseas you don't know what that experience is," Daras said. "I think this production has helped us understand a little bit more of what that might be like."

The show is free for veterans and D&E will host a military appreciation reception at Halliehurst from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Performances are scheduled for Thursday, October 25 through Saturday, October 27 as well as Thursday, November 1 through Saturday, November 3.
