Mountaineer Week kicked off Friday at the Mountainlair.

A chainsaw artist carved a Mountaineer out of a single block of wood.

There were also lots of exhibits and treats, like kettle corn and funnel cakes.

West Virginia Illustrated's Geoff Coyle will moderate Friday night's fireside chats with former Mountaineer mascots.
