MILL CREEK -

A community is in mourning after the stabbing death of Dustin White, 17, a former student at Tygarts Valley High School.

White was killed in front of the George Ward School right before the Tygart Valley High School football game was about to start on Friday night.

The community came together in the Tygart Valley Community Library on Saturday night to vent their feelings and honor Dustin. Family and friends described Dustin as kind-hearted and generous.

"Dustin was one of my best friends and he'd do anything in the world for anybody. That's just how he was… always laughing and smiling" said one of Dustin's close friends, TJ Scott.

Dustin's father, Kevin White, also had kind words to say, "Most of all he was true. He loved family members, he loved kids, and he would help anybody in the world. My son was going to be a nice young man."

White only has one request.

"Please don't let him die for nothing," White said.

After meeting in the library family and friends lit candles for Dustin in the spot where he was killed.

Police will not release the name of the suspect, because he is a juvenile, they said he was a student in Tygarts Valley High School and he is being held in a juvenile detention center.
