The American Red Cross has created a mobile app to help you monitor weather conditions.

The app offers step-by-step instructions on what to do before, during, and after a storm and on how to make an emergency kit for your family.

It will help you locate Red Cross shelters in your area and send an "I'm Okay" text to friends and family, and even has a flashlight feature for power outages.

The American Red Cross app is available for iPhones and Android phones.
