A thunderstorm that came through the area left residents with flood waters rushing into their homes.
A thunderstorm that came through the area left residents with flood waters rushing into their homes.
The Tucker County Sheriff's Department is investigating a fatal vehicle accident that happened around 2:40 p.m. Monday on Route 32 outside of Davis near Canaan Valley.
Nancy Hedrick, 40, of Davis was driving a 2006 PT Cruiser when she slid into the path of a 2000 Volvo Concrete Truck, driven by Terrance Welch, 34. Welch was driving the truck for Fairfax Industries of Thomas, according to the sheriff's department.
Hedrick was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tucker County Medical office.
Welch was taken to Garrett Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Md. with minor injuries. Hedrick's son was a passenger in her car and he was also taken to Garrett Memorial Hospital. His injuries are currently unknown.
The Tucker County Sheriff's Department is investigating. West Virginia State Police are assisting in the investigation.
Officials believes that weather could be a factor in the accident.
