Local Shelters Set Up for Storm Victims

Officials have set up shelters across North Central West Virginia for those requiring assistance during severe weather.

Barbour County:

  • Belington Fire Department serving 3 meals a day
  • Fresh Water being handed out at WorldVision in Philippi
  • Call the Communications Center at 304-457-4167 if you need water but cannot get to town, or if you have another emergency

Harrison County:

  • Wallace Volunteer Fire Department

Preston County:

  • Bruceton Mills Volunteer Fire Department
  • Masontown Fire Department 
  • Craig Civic Center in Kingwood.
  • A warming shelter is open at the Rowlesburg Ambulance building.

 Randolph County:

  • Tyrand Ministry Parrish on County Route 39 in Mill Creek
  • Camp Pioneer on County Route 37 in Beverly
  • Elkins Fire Department

 Taylor County:

  • Taylor County will open a shelter at Grafton High School beginning at 4 p.m. or Tuesday, October 30. If you need assistance getting to the shelter, call 304-612-5352.

Upshur County:

  • Ellamore Volunteer Fire Department
  • Banks District Fire Hall in Rock Cave
  • Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Buckhannon
