A Marion County mother is suing the Board of Education because her son was expelled from North Marion High school after he allegedly threatened another student while chatting over XBOX.
The student was expelled for one year for violating of the Safe Schools Act.
Kathy Lawson said her son shouldn't be placed in the same category as someone who assaults a teacher or brings drugs to school.
She believes the board of education didn't follow state laws in terms of her son's expulsion case.
