Preston County Holds Early Voting

KINGWOOD -

Preston County residents braved the weather for early voting Saturday.

Two days of early voting were canceled this week for safety of the voters. Voting had to be moved to a different location at the 911 Center because of emergency crews working towards helping people without power.

The fire hall in Aurora will be used as an alternate voting place for places that still are without power.

"We have six generators going throughout the county that the county commission has rented, and has hired an electrician to install them in the facility so that they'll still have their heat, lights and be able to run the voting machines," said Linda Huggins, county clerk.

The Preston County Commission is waiting until Monday to make any final decisions about which voting places can be used.
