Ritchie County High Marching Band Competes in Regional Competition

    An electrical fire destroyed a home in Harrison County Tuesday night. The Harrison County 911 Center said it started just after 12:15 a.m. on Locust Street in Salem. It said the fire appears to be suspicious.

A local band competed this weekend at a regional competition.

The Ritchie County High School Marching Band placed 20th out of 26 teams at the Atlantic Coast Championship in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

The band competed against schools from nine states.

This is the band's highest achievement to date.

It qualified for the competition by placing first in its category in West Virginia.
