West Virginia Wesleyan is coming off a phenomenal 2011-12 year in which they finished the regular season with 10 straight wins, on their way to a conference championship.
But if you ask anyone affiliated within the Wesleyan women's hoops program right now, they will tell you they have got a lot of rebuilding to do.
The Bobcats lost four of their five starters from a year ago. That includes the high-scoring duo of Jamie Kaufman and Lydia Bridenbaugh.
However, Brittany Maxey is the lone starter who returns. She will be relied upon heavily to carry this team. Head coach Jackie DeVane said she still expects the exact same out of her girls this season.
"My expectations are definitely still the same," DeVane said. "Our goals are still the same. We want to definitely do what we did last year, and even go beyond if we can. So we definitely want to win the conference, win the tournament; we want to go to the NCAA's. So our goals are exactly the same."
The Lady Bobcats will open their season on the road next Saturday, November 17 at West Chester University in Pennsylvania.
Wesleyan will hold its home opener on Sunday, November 18 when they host the University of the Sciences.
