In Upshur County, 59 percent of the voters turned out for the November election.

For County Commissioner Troy "Buddy" Brady defeated Steven Abel 4,874 to 3,137. For the race for sheriff, David Coffman, Republican nominee, defeated Independent candidate Sherman Baxa 4,519 to 2,881. 

"Just wanna work with my personnel the sheriff's department has a great foundation, good personnel, good resources. I'm just anxious to start the work, so we can all work
together and make things better for Upshur County,"  said sheriff elect David Coffman after the final results were tallied.

"On day one it will be will a learning experience, I will start from there and I'll see what I can do to make Upshur County a better place to live for its citizens," said commissioner elect Troy "Buddy" Brady.

The offices of Prosecuting Attorney, Surveyor, Magistrate, and Assessor did not change. The incumbents had no candidates running against them. Commissioner 
elect Troy "Buddy" Brady and sheriff elect David Coffman will assume their new duties on January first.
