West Virginia's largest teachers union is holding seven forums across the state on a sweeping audit of the public schools system.
West Virginia Education Association spokeswoman Kym Randolph tells the Charleston Daily Mail (http://bit.ly/UjH7Yy ) that the union believes more input is needed from teachers and school employees.
The audit lists more than 100 recommendations to improve student performance while saving an estimated $70 million annually.
Vision Shared hosted forums around the state this summer in conjunction with the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the governor's office.
The WVEA's first forum is set for Wednesday night at Huntington High School. Other forums are scheduled Nov. 13 in Fairmont and Martinsburg, Nov. 14 in Elkins, Nov. 26 in Wheeling, Nov. 29 in Parkersburg and Nov. 30 in Princeton.
