CHARLESTON (AP) -

Republicans in West Virginia's House of Delegates will pursue an intermediate appeals court, amended property tax laws and other major changes after nearly erasing the Democrat's 15-seat majority.

House Minority Leader Tim Armstead says the 2013 agenda will also tackle regulations and public school bureaucracy.

Tuesday's results increased the GOP's share of delegates from 35 to 44 in the 100-member House. Two additional seats appear likely Republican pickups but were too close to call.

Armstead says Republicans also want to revamp the way West Virginia funds roads, partly by tapping general tax revenues.

Armstead believes conservative Democrats will help the House pass this agenda. But the state Senate remains firmly in Democratic control following Tuesday's results. Voters also re-elected Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, a Democrat.
