Law Symposium Held at West Virginia University

Posted: Updated:

Some West Virginia University Law students received a special lesson Thursday in protecting children.

West Virginia's Law Review invited students and the public to hear several speakers at a symposium.

The dean of the Law school said lawyers often work with children in a variety of ways.

"They may be prosecuting a parent for child neglect, they may be defending the parent, or they may be representing a child in a proceeding," said WVU College of Law dean Joyce McConnell. "So it's essential think about families and parents and children, and think about how best to protect children."

The event was held in the Marlyn E. Lugar Courtroom.
