MORGANTOWN -
Three people were inducted into the West Virginia Business Hall of Fame on Thursday night.
Brett Harvey, Julie Smith and Tom Jones received the award. Though being from the state is not required, Jones, CEO of West Virginia United Health System, is a native and a WVU alumni.
"I'm extremely excited, and again, I'm just extremely humbled and it's very special to be inducted with two people such as Brett Harvey, from Consolidated Coal and Julie Smith, from her company who works with CEOs all over the world. It's just a very humbling and wonderful experience," said Jones.
The hall of fame award recognizes people with strong West Virginia ties. It's also given to those who make a significant impact on the landscape of business in the area.
The award was initiated by the WVU College of Business & Economics in 2001.
