Everyone gets a lead foot every so often. But a study showing that West Virginia has more fatalities from car wrecks than other areas in the United States may have drivers on Interstate 79 hitting the brakes.
The United Way of Marion County held a report luncheon Friday for its 2012-2013 Campaign.
This year's fundraising goal is $455,000.
Campaign Co-Chair Doreen Larson said the United Way is over halfway toward that number, and people should get excited for the rest of the campaign.
"This is the tough work now," Larson said. "This is where people really have to overcome a little of their inhibitions, make some phone calls, talk to people, and get out there and kind of start hustling. But its for such a great cause."
Colasessano's Pizza in Fairmont will donate $1 to the United Way for every pizza ordered on Saturday.
