Robert Maha, M.D., has been appointed chief operating officer of MedExpress Urgent Care.

Maha joins MedExpress from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), where he served as president and chief medical officer of Emergency Resource Management Inc. (ERMI) and vice president of UPMC Physician Services Division.  

At UPMC, Maha held several operational roles including his leadership of ERMI, a large entrepreneurial physician group providing urgent care, emergency medicine, hospitalist, and occupational medicine services throughout western Pennsylvania. He also served as vice president of UPMC's Physician Services Division, one of the nation's largest physician groups with more than 3,000 employed physicians.

Maha obtained his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and received his MBA from Robert Morris University. He completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh and is board certified in emergency medicine.  After residency,  Maha served as a major in the United States Air Force.
